I moved to Windy Hollow in November 2013. It is a really wonderful place, so peaceful, that horses seem to settle instantly.
The outside courtyard has 11 large loose boxes and includes a grooming box with heated lamps, an office & large tack/rug room, with a picturesque archway housing an undercover wash and tie-up area. The archway leads to the horse walker and the Barn. Within the Barn that houses the indoor arena we have a further 8 looseboxes, feed room and storage for hay/haylage. Above the looseboxes we have a viewing platform in order to give demonstrations/lectures.
We are very lucky to have an indoor 60 x 30 arena & a six-horse horse walker with rubber brick flooring.
In Lambourn known as the “Valley of the Racehorse”, the rolling hills continue for as far as the eye can see and with barely any traffic around making it an ideal base to train eventers. “It’s a cool place, the hacking is unreal. We don’t have to touch the roads and we can ride out over the downs, everywhere you go is a bridle path and the ground is unbelievable. It drains very well”.
We are extremely fortunate to be allowed to use National Hunt Champion trainer’s “Nicky Hendersons’” private Seven Barrows gallops. They are without question exceptional & it’s a privilege & honour to have access to them.
Turn out areas
We have nine stunning paddocks by the yard and a 20″x 20″ Turn out Pen; ideal for those returning from injury or on grass restriction.
